FEMA and FCC Plan Nationwide Emergency Alert Test for Oct. 4, 2023

Test Messages Will be Sent to All TVs, Radios and Cell Phones
FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) this fall.

The national test will consist of two portions, testing WEA and EAS capabilities. Both tests are scheduled to begin at approximately 2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

The purpose of the Oct. 4 test is to ensure that the systems continue to be effective means of warning the public about emergencies, particularly those on the national level. In case the Oct. 4 test is postponed due to widespread severe weather or other significant events, the back-up testing date is Oct. 11.

All wireless phones should receive the message only once. The following can be expected from the nationwide WEA test:
For consumers, the message that appears on their phones will read: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

They moved in Feb. 28th and did not receive any bills in the mail from BTMA since they moved in. They called about the bills and paid July’s bill as soon as they realized they weren’t getting them. They are now signed up for e-bills and ACH to prevent this in the future.

2. Account 155 – Malsnee Tile signed up for e-bill back in May but did not receive her bill for 6/1/23 in her email or spam folders. She realized it in July when the e-bill went to her spam folder. They are requesting the late fee reversal for $13.00 as she is now aware to check her spam folder for the bill.

3. Envirep Quote – Check Valve rebuild parts $4,599.80 and ARV Rebuild parts $510.20

4. TML Property Mgmt – Residential Apt. on Ulrich Lane, this is the property which BTMA would like to have an outside meter pit. The owner would like to sell back 3 EDU’s, the property has 6 and only uses 2.
