Message from Chief Waugh

Although Bern Township is not endorsing a trick-or-treat night this year, the Bern Township Police Department would like to remind motorists that Halloween is Saturday, October 31.

Drivers should be alert for children and pedestrian traffic who may be out after dark.

Parents should ensure that any children who are out carry flashlights or reflective devices and practice good pedestrian safety techniques.

Flushable to FATBERG

Urgent Request!

Are you cleaning up after cats or kids?
Please do not throw “flushable” cat litter or disposable wet wipes into your toilet. These items may look “flushable” but they do not dissolve or disintegrate.
They cause blockages and other problems in sewer systems, and these problems are very expensive to fix, which will cause the cost of your sewer rates to increase.
So please be considerate and throw the “flushables” into the trash, or these items will wind up costing you and other sewer users a lot of money.
Thank you.
